Terry Kassel – Board of Directors
Terry Kassel is a member of the Board of Directors of The Paul E. Singer Foundation (the “Foundation”) and Chairman of the Board of Start-Up Nation Central, a not-for-profit based in Israel, inspired by the book, Start-Up Nation. Terry is also a member of the Board of Directors of OneTable and Israel on Campus Coalition.Terry serves on the Management Committee of Elliott Management Corporation where she is Counsel and Head of Strategic Human Resources. Previously, she was Global Head of Human Resources and a member of the Operating Committee, Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. (2001-2006), Counsel and Head of Human Resources, Private Client Division, Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. (2000-2001) and Litigation Counsel, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith (1985-2000).
Deborah Hochberg – Director, Strategic Partnerships
Debbie Hochberg is the Director of Strategic Partnerships at The Paul E. Singer Foundation where she manages strategy development and funding relationships, among other responsibilities. Previously, Debbie was Director of Investor Relations for Multex, Inc., where she built investor relationships and ran corporate strategy, culminating in the company’s sale to Thomson Reuters. She served as an Equity Research Analyst and in Equity Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch & Co.
Debbie is involved with numerous organizations, including Start-Up Nation Central and The Jewish Food Society. She currently is a member of the Board of Directors of OneTable, served on the Board of Directors of The David Project from inception through 2008, is a lay leader for Facing History & Ourselves, and was an active volunteer in the Scarsdale Schools.
Debbie has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. in Biology from Harvard College, where she played on the four-time National Championship Varsity Squash team.
Daniel Bonner – Director, Jewish/Israel Philanthropy
Daniel Bonner is the Director of Jewish/Israel Philanthropy at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. After a year with a boutique investment bank in New York, Daniel joined the Foundation to co-manage strategic grant-making and collaboration with the Foundation’s peers.Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he grew up in Dallas and graduated from Columbia University, where he studied history and served as Hillel President and Vice Chair of its Student Governing Board. Outside of the office, Daniel is a tennis player, Larry David fan, and aspiring world traveler.
Max Karpel – COO & Counsel
Max Karpel is the Chief Operating Officer of and Counsel to the The Paul E. Singer Foundation and serves in the same roles at The Paul E. Singer Family Office LLC. Max is a member of the board of directors of Passages America Israel, Inc. and has been active as a director or officer of a variety of civic and community organizations. Before joining the Foundation, Max was a law partner at Kleinberg, Kaplan, Wolf & Cohen where he represented hedge fund managers on a wide range of matters, including in connection with the formation and structuring of hedge funds, management company issues and securities and private equity transactions. He joined Kleinberg Kaplan after practicing securities law at Skadden Arps. Max has a B.A. in History from Yale University and a J.D. from NYU School of Law.
Harry Zieve Cohen – Program Communications Manager
Harry Zieve Cohen is a Program Communications Manager at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. Harry joined the Foundation after working under Walter Russell Mead and writing about foreign and domestic policy for The American Interest magazine. A native of Brooklyn, Harry enjoys cooking and books. He graduated from Middlebury College in 2015.
Talia Lefkowitz – Strategic Partnerships Associate
Talia (Tali) Lefkowitz is a Strategic Partnerships Associate at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. Tali graduated in 2016 from Barnard College at Columbia University. Tali served as a Sergeant for the Orev Paratroopers unit in the IDF. She has spent her summers working at UJA-Federation of New York, AIPAC, and the Israeli Consulate. In her free time Tali enjoys scaling mountains and singing in choirs!
Talya Erdfarb – Program Officer
Talya Erdfarb is a Program Officer at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Talya spent over four years managing metrics and program evaluation for New Leaders, a national education non-profit that develops transformational school leaders in low income districts. She graduated in 2011 from University of Maryland with a degree in Psychology and Criminology and Criminal Justice, and was a 2015 -16 Princeton Emerging Leader Fellow. In her spare time, Talya enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and planning her next international vacation.
Michele Packman – Director of Operations
Michele Packman is the Director of Operations at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served for six years as the Director of Operations and Human Resources for The Paul E. Singer Family Office LLC. Prior to that Michele was the New York City Finance Coordinator for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee.Michele has an M.S. in Organizational Leadership for Human Resources from Quinnipiac University and a B.S. from Roger Williams University. In her free time, Michele enjoys traveling to New Mexico to spend time with her two nephews.
Chaya Glasner – Program Officer
Chaya Glasner is a Program Officer at The Paul E. Singer Foundation. Before the Foundation, Chaya worked with the Tikvah Fund for two years, serving in an editorial and marketing capacity. Prior to that, she was a 2011-2012 Tikvah Fellow.Chaya is a graduate of Yeshiva University and spent a year studying at Michlalah Jerusalem College. Originally from the D.C. area, Chaya loves life in New York City and tries to take advantage of the city’s cultural offerings as often as possible.
